Just a quick reflection on the interest shown so far in the memoirs of anarchist and peace activist Laurens Otter hosted on this site. I am pleased to report that this has gone global and that somewhere around 90 people have so far taken a look and probably downloaded the memoirs. Much of the interest has been from the UK, Canada, USA, Ireland and western Europe, especially Belgium, France and Switzerland, but I have also had personal contacts from Poland and Australia. I am delighted for Laurens, who may be controversial in some circles (not least for his Christianity) but who has had a principled lifetime of involvement in activism and deserves to be thought of highly for that. There is much to be learned from people like him, but it takes openness and tolerance of difference – qualities distinctly lacking in this political milieu.
